Empower, Elevate, and Excel: Women of Color Leading the Academy

The upcoming yearly Faculty Women of Color in the Academy National Conference (FWCA) offers a distinctive educational and professional platform for Indigenous and Women of Color in higher education to engage in networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing with peers from diverse geographical backgrounds. The 13th annual FWCA event will incorporate sessions dedicated to exploring themes such as leadership, career progression, personal well-being, scholar activism, and the experiences of graduate school and emerging scholars.

A message from Dr. Menah Pratt, FWCA founder:

We recognize the importance of community for women of color in the academy. We are in the process of planning a wonderful experience for next year. We are working with the national committee to develop a meaningful and impactful four-day experience. Look forward to dynamic keynote speakers, a writing retreat with Inkwell Academic Writing Retreats, dozens of powerful workshops, and many networking opportunities. The conference will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington April 10 - 13, 2025. We hope that you will be able to devote the weekend to self-care, empowerment, and personal and professional development.
