Virginia Beach Resort Hotel

Trying to find an excuse to go to the beach this summer? Join us at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel on Saturday, July 25 as we host the 2015 Black Alumni Summit. The Black Alumni Summit is a biennial gathering of Virginia Tech’s African-American alumni to build and plan for the Black Alumni Society-YOUR Black Alumni Society.

Events have been planned for the entire day of the 25th from breakfast until dinner. The Summit will include updates on campus diversity news, a chance to for students and alumni to network, as well as committee meetings to move the Black Alumni Society forward. The summit will provide the opportunity for alumni to develop specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely goals. With the help of facilitator and alumna Nakeina E. Douglas-Glenn, we hope to build a flourishing society that will meet the needs and interests of its members..

In addition to the planning, we will celebrate the 80th birthday of Virginia Tech's first black student, Irving Peddrew.  Mr. Peddrew's strength and boldness paved the way for the more than 8,000 black alumni who have succeeded him and we hope you will join us to honor and celebrate him. We are working to make this the best Summit yet and hope to see you there. Costs include $25 for the entire day or $15 for the birthday celebration only.  Register today!
