•  Black College Institute (BCI) and Hispanic College Institute (HCI) - creating pipelines for 600 students a year to experience Virginia Tech

•  Student Opportunities and Achievement Resources (SOAR) - ensuring success of over 5000 diverse students

•  Cultural and Community Centers (CCC) - supporting diverse and inclusive communities through 6 faculty, staff, and student centers

•  Future Faculty Diversity Program (FFDP) -identifying and recruiting talented and diverse faculty

•  Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) - promoting diversity in engineering fields

•  College Access Collaborative (CAC) - creating opportunity for urban and rural communities across Virginia

Cultural Competency

•  Online Diversity Education - each year 7000 students complete an online pre-enrollment course

•  Inclusive Pedagogy - making classrooms and teaching accessible to all students

•  InclusiveVT Insights - over 20 microlearning videos promoting inclusive behaviors and mindsets

•  Annual Events - InclusiveVT Week and Principles of Community Week

•  Required Course - Every student completes a required course on equity and identity in the United States


Sharing Knowledge

A more just and inclusive world, starting at Virginia Tech, with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and sharing knowledge with the world.

•  Diversity Champion - for the past five years by INSIGHT into Diversity magazine

•  Faculty Women of Color in the Academy National Conference (FWCA) - A unique educational and professional opportunity for indigenous and women of color in higher education

engaging over 2,000 women

•  Equity and Social Disparity in the Human Condition Destination Area – Research that advances the human condition and creates a more equitable and just global community

•  #VTUnfinished - A virtual series on unfinished conversations about race and identity

•  Making the Chair Fit – A virtual series on people and programs supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion at Virginia Tech
