I graduated from Virginia Tech’s Early Childhood Education program with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been teaching for seven years, and I am currently a kindergarten teacher at a daycare. My professional experience also includes working in both urban and rural public schools in Norfolk, VA and Greenwood, SC for six years.
Respect for multiculturalism and diversity is a big part of my life. I am a Filipino-American and have grown up with many cultural experiences and traditions. I serve my community as a minority leader in multiple community settings. Along with being a board member, I have been an advisor for Kappa Kappa Gamma chapters at Virginia Tech for four years and at Clemson University for three years. Additionally, I serve with my husband as Young Life Leaders for Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, VA.
